Description:

This is a commissioned work. One of my collector's favorite bands is Rush, favorite album 2112. His only stipulations being the star man in the middle, the members of Rush, and the Rush logo embedded within the design. The rest he left to me.
The album was inspired by the literary works of Ayn Rand, whom is also one of my favorite authors. Fountainhead was the particular inspiration for this painting. The 'starchild' in the center represents free will, and the ability to think for oneself. The colorful faces surrounding are representational of individuality, and the refusal to conform to societal conditioning. The gray faces surrounding them represent conformity, attempting to change the individualism, the free thinker.
