„The Harvest“

from the gallery of Kevin Chasing Wolf Hutchins
Description:

24"x48" Acrylic on masonite board
This painting, as is with many of my paintings, was inspired by a lucid dream;

"I was standing in a roofless structure among a crowd of people looking over a mountainous landscape. The whole sky was blanketed by silvery blue clouds with pockets throughout protruding down like drops of water ready to break away from the heavens. Then I realized that some of those pockets were stretching down to the Earth and bouncing back skyward. I 'knew' that 'They' were taking people up from the earth in these 'clouds'. Then again from a Knowing within myself I Knew this was "The Harvest". I thought, "I didn't know it was going to be like this!".
Then a cloud grew above me and I knew they were coming for me. An illumined white chord with an arrow tip came out of the engorged cloud and shot down at me. I jumped and it missed, hitting the dirt floor below my feet, and then pulled back into the cloud column. The crowd around me fled in each direction as the chord reappeared. I jumped again but this time it compensated for my leap and struck my forehead and suspended me in mid-air. The chord vibrated every part of me and as soon as it hit me I was not seeing with my physical eyes but with an internal sight. In a sea of black I saw an illumined white circle with a small pie shape missing from its northwest area. The vibrations filled the pie shape so that the circle was complete and I awoke in bed drenched with sweat.
I stumbled out of bed and made my way down the hallway and into the bathroom. I turned the light on and stared at the stranger in the mirror."
