„When the Light Breaks Through“

from the gallery of eloiseart
Description:

The path stops abruptly, but it isn't the end. Rather, it is the beginning. As I stand paused at what seems to be the last little bit of the walk, I look up to see the sun breaking through the trees, the leaves glistening and glittering, and the way to go marked clearly by the newly introduced light. Perhaps a chapter is closing, but I really like what I see just ahead - a new path, and perhaps a new season in my life.
................................................This painting was created with palette knife, each color layered one by one as the one before it dried. This is called impasto technique. In the Impressionist style first introduced by great artists such as Renoir and Monet, the emphasis is on the eye and brain putting together the image rather than being provided distinct lines that outline the objects. This is particularly affective with a forest, as indeed, it seems that in real life, one line blends yet into the next. In today's world, where books are spoon fed to us as movies, I like the opportunity that the Impressionist style provides to interpret the art - each of us, on our own.
