The magnificent Torrecilla mountain in the Sierra de las Nieves, Spain.

Len Bage has uploaded Torre Urique

I live across a deep ravine from this old tower which is one of many built by the moors in the 12th century. Normally, I have not been able to see it from my roof terrace but they have just cut down a number of very tall trees growing on the edge and from the walls of the ravine which had become dangerous, threatening to fall and block the lane.

So, now that I have a beautiful view of it, I am happy to share it with you!

There is nothing which makes a landscape more dramatic than rays of light creating highlights across the terrain!

Len Bage has uploaded Canal Days

Enjoying the cafe culture by a canal in Prague, Czech Republic.

Len Bage has uploaded Winds Of Change

Incongruous, strange, intrusive, futuristic - wind turbines polarise opinion all over the world. Personally, I like them!

Len Bage has uploaded Zurich Panorama

From across the river, a complete view of downtown Zurich in Switzerland.

Len Bage has uploaded Frozen Landscape

A freezing winters day on Albis, near Zurich, Switzerland. The lake was frozen and spindrift can be seen on the other side near the tree line.

Len Bage has uploaded Jan Hus Memorial

The Jan Hus Memorial stands at one end of Old Town Square, Prague in the Czech Republic. The huge monument depicts victorious Hussite warriors and Protestants who were forced into exile 200 years after Hus and a young mother which symbolizes national rebirth. It was unveiled in 1915 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Jan Hus’ martyrdom. The memorial was designed by Ladislav Šaloun and paid for solely by public donations. Born in 1370, Hus became an influential religious thinker, philosopher, and reformer in Prague. Hus believed that Catholic mass should be given in the vernacular, or local language, rather than in Latin as well as many teachings of John Wycliffe. This did not go over well with the Vatican in Rome and Huss was ultimately condemned by the Council of Constance and burned at the stake in 1415.

Len Bage has uploaded Homegrown

Typical houses in an old English village.

Dedicated to the men and women who lost their lives fighting for the freedom of their country, now know as the Czech Republic.

This shot is a special sepia version of another image shown here in my gallery.

This scene HAD to be captured. The disabled guy was deep in conversation with the evangelist and seemed to be questioning him vigourously. The question which formed in my mind seemed to be exactly the one he was asking!

A traditional street in an English village. In order to get an idea of how it might have looked before the present got it's hands on it, I removed all traces of modern life - yellow lines, lamp posts, TV aerials, etc.

Somehow, a bicycle leaning against old traditional buildings is a scene we all associate with French village life!

Len Bage has uploaded Cloud Chaos

Sometimes, especially in the aftermath of a storm or heavy rain, clouds can seem angry and unsettled, moving about rapidly and occasionally settling on the tops of the hills.

Len Bage has uploaded Grace

The peaceful head of Buddha.

Len Bage has uploaded Distance

This road, leading deep into the Axarquia mountains in souther Spain, conveys a wonderful sense of scale.

Len Bage has uploaded Bastion

Warkworth Castle is sited on raised ground in a loop of the River Coquet in Northumberland. The original motte and bailey castle was built in the mid 12th century by Earl Henry of Northumberland, son of David I, King of Scots. In 1157, Henry II recovered Northumberland from the Scots, and in the following year gave Warkworth Castle to Roger FitzRichard. But the castle is most famously associated with the Percy family, who acquired the castle in 1332. The sixth Percy earl, Henry, on his death in 1537, left the castle and all his possessions to Henry VIII. Subsequent attempts to reinstate a Percy brought misfortune on the castle as the catholic Percy's came into conflict with the protestant Queen Elizabeth. A failed uprising of the Northern Earls against the queen, led to the execution of the 7th earl in 1572, and to the pillaging of the castle by the Queen's servants. The castle was subsequently allowed to fall into decay.

Len Bage has uploaded Northern Green

This scene is typical of Northumberland in the far north of the UK. The village green, ancient trees and a well-placed bench seat so that people can stop, relax and enjoy the peaceful environment.

The whole of the city of Prague has cobbled streets and it's architecture is some of the most beautiful in Europe.
