I made this image with 700mm length telephoto lens mounted on a Canon 1Ds Mark II 17MP DSLR camera. The eagle surprised me when it flew by at close range; about the minimum focus distance for my lens. Location: near Seabeck on the Hood Canal (fjord) of Puget Sound in western Washington state, USA.
