The title is, obviously, a combination (word play, tongue-in-cheek) of the names of the two well-known rock bands, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin. Beside the music, I always loved their names, one is a beautiful dreamy color and the other is a great visual paradoxical metaphor. The idea was to represent a deep-purple-colored-too-heavy-to-fly-rigid-airship, literally.
Also, the spirited surprise is well balanced by some pensive tension due to the fact that the painting recalls the accidents of the Zeppelin airship era, like The Hindenburg disaster.
