Description:

This is an October 1995 photograph at dusk of a female getting a shoe shine on the corner of St. Peter Street and Decatur Street adjacent to Jackson Square in the French Quarters of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. In the left background under the covered sidewalk is a sign for "Vans," which offered "Cocktails to Go." In the window on the right is a "Lite" beer sign with an outline of a football helmet with a flour-de-lit symbol for the New Orleans Saints. This was a typical street scene in 1995 New Orleans.
