Driving through the Andalucian countryside, on my way to Sevilla, on a cold but beautifully bright winter's day I came across this wonderfully stark landscape. I couldn't resist ! Braving cars and thundering lorries, I jumped out of the car and snapped a few quick shots. Spring is here and at Casa Tyr that means we clear out the flower beds and plant some colour for spring and summer. One of my favourites is the dahlia.

From the balcony of my house I have on of the most wonderful vistas imaginable, all the way down the valley to Malaga and the Costa del Sol. Early morning is the best time. The sunrises are incredible.

Plaza del mar, Marbella is a modern shopping mall arranged over several levels, the upper of which contains a series of open spaces with shaded seating and sea views. I like the regular patterns of the columns and seats and the way intense blue of an Andalucian sky contrasts with the stark stone terraces. The occasional visitor resting on one of the benches enjoying the view creates a sense of isolation unusual in this most bustling of the Costa del Sol's beach towns.
