The fictitious motif with the central bridge, as it applies to many of these pictures, can be seen to affect its aesthetic effect without any further interpretation, and to see the meaning of the picture fulfilled in it. Every being needs a connection in the sense of a bridge to other beings. The mere existence is not fulfilled or completed in itself. In order to remain 'to be' and to be, it requires an exchange with attainable other substances. Thus, the being in question may not dwell on itself but go out of itself with the essential urge to enter into interactions with the world of things in order to enter the process of development. The bridge in the picture can be a metaphor for such an exchange in this sense.

 _______________    Das originale Kunstwerk ist ein Ölgemälde auf Leinwand mit dem Titel 'Die Verbindung' .  Die Größe des Originals ist 40 x 30 cm.        Das frei erfundene Motiv mit der zentralen Brücke kann man, wie es für viele dieser Bilder gilt, allein ob seiner ästhetischen Wirkung ohne weitere Interpretation auf sich wirken lassen und den Sinn des Bildes darin erfüllt sehen. Wenn jedoch jemand damit nicht erfüllt ist, kann man über die gegenseitige Abhängigkeit allen Seins zu philosophieren beginnen und dieses Gemälde als Anlaß dazu nutzen. Jedes Sein benötigt eine Verbindung im Sinne einer Brücke zu anderem Seienden. Das bloße Dasein ist nicht in sich selbst erfüllt oder vollendet. Um zu 'Sein' und im Sein zu bleiben, erfordert es einen Austausch mit erreichbaren anderen Substanzen.
