Clytia fell in love with the sun god Apollo. She did nothing, except long nine days, she looked just like Apollo driving his chariot across the sky. Therefore, she has been transformed into a flower but her image remained in his memory. On sunny days, both follow the sun on its journey along the sky from east to west.
