Our eyes met from across the room.
I was awestruck
Couldn't take my eyes off of her.
She held my gaze.
Staring into me
We both felt the hunger
growing
I moved in closer.

Only to see that look in her eyes I'd seen so many times before...
(sigh)
...that I was merely a piece of meat
This is a Cinereous Vulture, the largest bird of prey in the world.
And fortunately, I decided against wrapping myself in bacon or I would have been a goner.
Thanks to Silas Wood and Jeremy Scanlon for being such marvelous handlers. And making sure Gertrude was well fed before I got as close as i did.
