Sturt’s Desert Pea, Swainsona formosa, is a particularly striking member of the Fabaceae family. It is the state flower of South Australia.Their flowering period is from July to March and depends very heavily on the time of the rain. The flower color can vary from creamy white to pink to deep red. It is a rarity and it was a special luck to find this plant in the outback of the Watarrka National Park --- Sturt's Desert Pea, Swainsona formosa oder auch Australische Wüstenerbse ist ein besonders markantes Mitglied der Fabaceae-Familie. Es ist die Staatsblume von Südaustralien. Ihre Blütezeit ist von Juli bis März und hängt sehr stark von der Zeit des Regens ab. Die Blütenfarbe kann von cremeweiß über rosa bis zu tiefem rot varieren. Sie ist eine Rarität und es war ein besonderes Glück, diese Pflanze im Outback des Watarrka-Nationalparks zu finden.
