Chepstow Castle located in Chepstow, Monmouthshire in Wales Built on top of limestone cliffs overlooking the River Wye. This position afforded an excellent defensive location which helped suppress the Welsh from attacking Gloucestershire along the Severn shore towards Gloucester.
