Meet Hunter. He is my friend's dog. At a visit to her house, I gently slid off my shoes as I sat back on the couch for catching-up time with my friend. Hunter came over and sniffed my shoes and my feet. I was elated. "He likes me," I thought. He is checking me out because he wants to bond. In a few moments, I looked down to see him gnawing away at my right sandal. I was no longer elated. A few weeks later, my friend told me that Hunter did the same thing to another female visitor. That's when it hit me - he's just a typical male. Some men like women in pants, others like women in tight blouses, some men like sexy shoes. Hunter is a shoe man.

Now to get down to the serious (and that wasn't serious? you say...): The Bichon Frise descended from the Water Spaniel and the Standard Poodle. The word bichon comes from Middle French bichon ("small long-haired dog") and the German word, "Betze". Bichons also include the Bolognese and the Maltese. Some members of the Bichon group are said to have ancestry in Italy as well as France. Early sailors found different members of the Bichon family in Italy, England, Germany, Spain, and in other countries along the Mediterranean Sea. The Bichon has also been popular in Australia.
................................................The Bichon is a companion dog. He is friendly (especially if he likes your shoes!) and intelligent. Just like Hunter, most bichons are playful and affectionate.
