Über dieses Bild:
Sometimes when my husband prays, he says, “Jesus, thank you for the work you did on the cross. If you had never done another thing, that would be enough to make me eternally grateful. That was enough. That was more than enough.” But here’s the thing – He did MORE than die on the cross. He arose. He lives today. He walks with us, protects us, blesses us, and more.

This painting explores a little deeper. What pain must a heavenly Father have felt to give over His son for such a horrific task? Yet he opened the gate of heaven and gave the greatest gift of all – His child. I can’t imagine it. And here’s the thing – God is God. He didn’t have to do it. But He did. What love! What an example of giving.

And then another step further – I can’t outgive God. No matter what I do or how hard I try. Isn’t it amazing? And it gives me so much freedom! I don’t have to worry when I give to the poor or write that check to send a child to camp that our budget will be adversely affected. I don’t have to wonder with hindsight if I should or shouldn’t have written the check – it always appears back in our budget somehow because when I give, it’s just a reflection of what He gave.
