"Lipstick on a Pig" - the meaning behind the phrase is that sometimes people try to disguise the truth by altering the exterior instead of changing the core. At first blush, the idea seems ridiculous. After all, who would fall for such a charade? But people do. They believe what they want to believe. Oh yes, they see the lipstick and they probably see that the lips are on a pig's snout - then they have to CHOOSE to believe the outer message and ignore the real truth at the core of the matter.
................................................Even so, pigs are also the meat (pun intended) for good clean fun. The three pigs did finally win over the wolf, you know. And Kermit the Frog and Ms. Piggy are real, aren't they? AND ... after some unexpected victories in certain sports, there are those who would swear that pigs FLY.
................................................So why not paint a cute pig with eyeshadow, penciled eyebrows, mascara, and yes - lipstick!! Every pig collector is sure to enjoy her. Sometimes, pigs are just for fun.
................................................ Hang her in the kitchen at work or home. Add her to the children's farm-themed room. Wink at her as you pass by (she likes to flirt) ... and by all means, enjoy the thought that this artist put "lipstick on a pig" - whatever that may mean to you personally!
