Lead archeologyst clamed the middle one for herself. :D
Illustration for archeology exhibition, displaying all sorts of stuff that was burried around that town for 5000-2000 years!
I also had a chance to restore one really big, mistique-upper-part-of ancient pot and some other illustrations & drawings. It was amazing project to do!!
- references were parts of Roman armour digged up in that area, main archeologyst decided how should spear look like, overall design was made in agreement with lead archeologyst and Curator of the Museum
- transfer to the wall (using overhead projector) was impossible because the hall was to narrow. Therefore I just drew them from skratch, not using my sketches anymore.
- that was really easy for me (and fun) since drawing big format male anatomy was my favorite course at Academy. So glad I had this chance to use that skill, and very pleased that I haven't forgot it (there's been 9 years since my Diploma!)
- selection of a technique was politely suggested by the lead archeologyst and I was thrilled that she said pencils
- others wanted some more painting techniques but I haven't had a chance to decide anything untill that point so they approved pencils
- they were really skeptic observing the whole process of big format drawing because whole week went by in construction and assisting lines (where only I could see how's the piece going to look like)
-after that, and when Romans finally started to look as Romans, they used to pass by and say 'Hello Handsome!' or 'that one's MINE' :D (whole Museum team was made of women!)
- when done, everyone was thrilled. I can't wait for the exhibition opening!!!
- this is the last serious drawing this spring, unfortunately
- now back to waitressing because I still have to pay the rent somehow
