It's June and preparations are being made for the annual Henley Royal Regatta held at Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. On the water timber is ready, probably for one of the many temporary landing stages needed for the event. Over the river is the town of Henley. Rising above the riverside buildings is the C16th tower of the parish church of St Mary the Virgin. Further upriver cab be seen Henley Bridge constructed in 1786. The regatta became 'royal' when Prince Albert became patron.
