First of all my mermaids are a one sex kind of race. In order to propagate they need to be with a male of an other race.To do this and as a maturation ritual the mermaids go up on land when they are about 20 (counted in human years). But mermaids can't neither breathe air or walk on land. Thats were the sea witch comes in! Once every year she dose a spell on a bunch o pearls that allow the mermaids to breath and grow legs. The spell activates when the mermaid tries to breathe air. This is followed by a big choosing ceremony, a party, a journey to a harborer city and an even bigger party!
Now let's talk about the artwork. I'm rather lacy when it comes to backgrounds, bur on this I worked a bit with lights and depth. I'm not that great wit watercolors ether so I hope you like it!
