Über dieses Bild:

This is an 08 October 1995 photograph of the Audubon Zoo Swamp Festival near the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. The festival began in 1984 around the time of the opening of the Louisiana Swamp Exhibit so this was the 11th festival. I captured several images of this festival but this is my favorite because of the exuberant dancing and the manner in which the male on the left was caressing the head of the female with whom he was dancing. I know this photo was made sometime between 12:45 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. because Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band was playing on stage. Posted on the left side of the pavilion covering is a sign that indicated the following musicians for October 8th: Lafourche Cajun Band, 11:15 - 12:30; Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, 12:45 - 2:00; Evangeline, 2:30 - 3:45; and, Beausoleil avec Michael Doucet, 4:15 - 5:45. The small sign to the right of the festival performance schedule simply declares "No Audio or Video Recordings." The festival banner in the middle of the pavilion roof indicates the sponsors were: 92.3 WCKW Louisiana's Rock; Southwest Airlines; NBC Channel 6, WDSU; and, Pepsi and 7-Up. The male in the right foreground twirling his dance partner is wearing a tank top imprinted with "Bahama Bound - Elmwood Fitness Center." This photograph accurately represents "a good time was had by all."
