On the seafront at Rhyl in Denbighshire on the North Wales coast, stands a modern Eisteddfod stone circle.

The National Eisteddfod of Wales is traditionally held in the first week of August, and the competitions are all held in the Welsh language. Each year, the competitions are held at a different venue, but if a stone circle is not already present, then one is created to mark the location.
