Picture ID: 1bbfdc0

A band of !Kung hunter-gatherers makes a stealthy approach towards an antelope, their bows & arrows at the ready. The !Kung are a part of the San of Southern Africa who are often referred to as Bushmen. They have an unrivalled knowledge of nature and how best to live off the land. They differ in appearance from the rest of black Africa having yellowish skin and being lightly boned, lean and muscular. They speak with four distinct click consonants. The !Kung live in the harsh environment of a vast expanse of flat sand and bush scrub country straddling the Namibia-Botswana border. Until recently, their way of life had remained unchanged for thousands of years. Few now live solely by hunting and gathering.
