„Buggy by the Road“

Description:

An antique buggy by the road ...

A horse and buggy (in American English) or horse and carriage (in British English and American English) refers to a light, simple, two-person carriage of the late 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries, drawn usually by one or sometimes by two horses. Also called a roadster, it was made with two wheels in England and the United States, and with four wheels in the United States as well. It had a folding or falling top. The buggy body was used as inspiration for the body of the Model T automobile. Although many people switched to driving automobiles once they were available, horse-drawn buggies were still used into the 1920s, especially during the Great Depression when gas was more expensive than horse feed!

This photograph was taken along an out-of-the-way road. Any signs of modern conveniences have been edited out so that the countryside provides the only background for the buggy. A painting-like effect has been added to give the photograph the look of a painting. Its colors are lovely and the overall feeling of the image is light and airy to match the buggy itself. It would be beautiful in a restored hotel or restaurant, or hung in an older home with traditional decorating.

Buggy ride, anyone? All you need is a horse and driver!
