Excalibur, or Cut-steel, is a magic sword that was given to King Arthur, as a rightful sovereign of Great Britain. According to one legend, Arthur obtained the throne by pulling a sword from a stone, something that only a true king was able to perform. According to another legend, Excalibur was given to Arthur by the Lady of the Lake, a character from Arthurian legend.
