Description:

Fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium) is beautiful when it flowers in summer, and beautiful again when the leaves turn color in autumn. I photographed this group of Fireweed in Banff National Park, in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The complimentary green and purple colors and the texture of the leaves make for a lovely botanical portrait.
