„Site Of The Battle Of Fredericksburg“

from the gallery of John Bailey
Description:

This home, known as the Innis House, survived the Civil War battle of Fredericksburg in 1862. What is so amazing is it sits right on the front lines. The sunken road, which runs along the front of the house, was the Confederate battle line. The hill in the foreground is where the Confederate canon were located. The battle was a resounding victory for the Confederacy. This is a digital art image rendered from my photograph.
