Beautiful Spitfire with the markings of the famous 303 Polish Sqadron, the aircraft flown by Squadron Leader Jan Zumbach.

Yes Barbara and Maciej, Polish pilots made a great sacrifice supporting the RAF during the Battle of Britain and without their efforts the RAF would not have been able to survive the summer and autumn of 1940.
As the then British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill said in his wartime speech "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few".
Our thanks to all the Polish airmen and to all the brave men from all of the many nationalities who fought alongside us for our freedom in the skies over England in 1940.
"Lest we forget".
