addSoul is the professional playground of illustrator and designer Bo Virkelyst Jensen. He is born and based in Denmark - but can often be found in Berlin or travelling to other parts of the world, working, visiting friends and getting to know new people and places.

Rui Ricardo is an illustrator from Porto, Portugal, where he lives and works.
Developing drawing skills at an early age, he had his first work published at the age of fifteen. His love for illustration and comics made him follow an artistic career and, by the time he was finishing the course of graphic design at the fine arts university of Porto, he already had four graphic novels published, no to mention countless colaborations with magazines and local comics fanzines. An invitation from a major national TV production company started him in animation and background illustration for “Major Alvega” which is still the only portuguese TV production series to have ever been nominated for an Emmy award. After eight years doing animation and motion design for several TV shows, music videos and commercials, he started working exclusively as a freelance illustrator. Rui is represented in London by Folio, a major illustration agency established in 1976. Most of his work is editorial and he has colaborated with several magazines and newspapers like FHM, Men’s Fitness, The Times, The Telegraph, The Mail on Sunday, GQ, Popular Mehanics, Marketing Week, among many more. Outside the press, he has also worked for Unicef, Hasbro, Oxford University Press, Pearson, Usborne, Macmillan, Vodafone, FNAC, Samsung, Nathan, Defra (UK government department for environment, food and rural affairs), and many others.
When he is not drawing, he likes to travel with his partner or spend time at home with his dogs, his plants and his books.

I was born in Madrid in 1981 in the tender age of zero. As it was hard to express myself in words, I started doing so by drawing. Since then I comunicate better with a pencil than talking.

I was never a good student. The only thing I liked were the textbooks with ilustrations and if not, I would fill the white parts with my scrabbles. The relationship I had with my teachers was never productive, it is not good to mingle a bad student with dull and demotivating teachers. With seventeen I started studying in a drawing school, but the teachers I had weren't very enthusiastic either. So I finished school and decided to become autodidactic and finally live from my drawings, since they lived from me.Thankfully or consequentlly to my stuburness, I spent a long time in my room improving and after a lot of effort, I finally got my first jobs.

Ich wurde in einem kleinen Ort in Oberfranken, Bayern, geboren. Meine Liebe zur Kunst und zum Zeichnen gabs schon immer. Deshalb habe ich Kerammalerin gelernt. Danach habe ich viele Jahre in Amerika gelebt, wo ich Literatur studierte, und merkte , dass ich auch gerne Geschichten erzähle. So entstehen auch meine Zeichnungen, die fast immer ein Teil einer Geschichte mit selbstgeschriebenem Text sind. Am schönsten ist es, wenn ich anderen mit meinen Bildern eine Freude machen kann.
