Mike Shields
I first got into Photography in the late 70's when I bought my first SLR. After a year or so I set up a Darkroom in our spare bedroom and started to develop my own Black & White photographs.
In the mid 80's we moved house and unfortunately I didn't have room for a Darkroom. Around this time I took an interest in Target Shooting, joined a local Shooting Club and in 1991 became Chairman of LCB Marksmen.
In 2008 I sustained an injured to my shoulder which meant I couldn't shoot competitively for nearly two years. During a clear-out at home I came across my old SLR with a couple of rolls of film, I took it with me on a trip to a local beauty spot, used both rolls and was pleasantly surprised when I got them back from the developers.
Realising I still had the Photography bug I bought a Nikon D3100. Shortly after, I invested in an 18-200mm Nikon Zoom lens and a Sigma 10-20mm Wide Angle zoom. I have recently purchased a Nikon D5100 as a second body.
These days whatever I'm photographing I enjoy the taking and the editing. I now use every chance I get to capture the moments in time that would be lost forever, like tears in the rain.....
