I got extremely lucky with the conditions on my first attempt at woodland photography. After having my plans for four locations ruled because of tides, weather or firing range closures, I plumped for Puddletown Forest at about 6:30am on Sunday morning and headed out through the gloom and mist. It turns out you don’t need to be ready and setup 45 minutes before sunrise - it is pretty dark and spooky in the wood before sunrise.
