Interview with Serena Facchin
Serena Facchin, whom we invited to take part in our series of interviews, is a photographer based in Italy. Her pictures often seem like the perfect depiction of a fairy tale and contain a certain ambiguity.
We asked her how she spends a perfect sunday, what chocolate she likes best and where she draws her inspiration from – take a look!
Why and when did you start making art?
I think at the age of 7. I found some amazing drawings from the primary school… girls with purple hair and huge bows. I was definitely more visionary than now.
Seriously, I started taking pictures knowingly three years ago, at the age of 25.
What kind of art do you make?
It is listed under the name of photography, but it is more like a mix of planning, manufacture, collage and investigation
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
My inspiration comes from my grandma’s wool tops, from the home made special effects in the old movies, and from children’s imagination.
What does your usual workday look like?
My office life is quite repetitive, for this reason I let my mind ramble brakeless.
Fortunately I do not have any blocked website, so during breaks I can also look for sources of inspiration.
How do you spend a perfect sunday?
Sun, nature, camera and the people I love around me
What is your favourite taste of chocolate?
Mint chocolate.

Building the world of my imagination and try to put the people I love in it, hoping that they will entertain!
