I took this photo last winter, on a cold morning. The ground was totally frozen; and each time I moved I could hear the sharp break of the leaves under my feet. I wasn’t going to stop but when I saw the raising sun behind the oaks I could not resist.

These centenary oaks have a perimeter between the two and three meters and a height of twenty meters. There are quite unique in the zone because, in the past century, the commercial use of the wood boosts the establishment of the pine trees in the surroundings.

You can find this small Oakwood near ‘Les Tàpies’, an old farm belonging to Calders, province of Barcelona, in Catalonia.
