„Caerphilly Castle Reflected“

from the gallery of Ian Lewis
Description:

Caerphilly Castle, or Castell Caerfili in Welsh, is situated in the centre of the County Borough of Caerphilly in South Wales. It dates from the 13th century when it was constructed by Gilbert de Clare as a means of conquering Glamorgan and is one of the earliest concentric castles in Britain. It is surrounded by defensive lakes which form the moat. This monochrome image was captured one afternoon in early March during a stormy period of weather.
