Seit vielen Jahren nehme ich mir bewusst die Zeit, Reisemomente, Orte und Landschaften, die eigene, urbane Umgebung aber auch Alltagssituationen in Zeichnungen festzuhalten.
Zeichnen entspannt, schärft den visuellen Sinn für das Wesentliche und macht glücklich.
Während ich zeichne verweile ich länger an einer Stelle und nehme meine Umgebung mit seinen Besonderheiten viel intensiver wahr.
Auch wenn ich nicht unterwegs bin, zeichne ich oft meine Erlebnisse aus der Erinnerung nach und treffe so auf kreative Art und Weise noch einmal auf all die wundervollen Orte mit ihren Menschen, die mir begegnet sind.
Egal, ob auf Reisen oder zu Hause am Zeichentisch - es sind wenige Mittel, die mich beim Entstehen meiner Bilder begleiten. Ein kleiner Aquarellkasten mit 14 Farben in halben Näpfen, ein Wasserpinsel, Blei- und Tuschestifte, sowie kleine praktische Aquarellblöcke und Skizzenbücher - das ist alles.
Zeichnen ist für mich ein wichtiges Mittel zur Bereicherung der eigenen Lebensqualität. Ohne Anspruch auf Perfektion - aber mit eigenem, unverwechselbarem Stil.

For many years I have deliberately taken the time to capture travel moments, places and landscapes, my own urban environment but also everyday situations in drawings.
Drawing relaxes, sharpens the visual sense for the essential and makes you happy.
While I am drawing, I stay in one place longer and perceive my surroundings with its special features much more intensely.
Even when I am not on the road, I often trace my experiences from memory and meet creatively with all the wonderful places with their people that I met.
Regardless of whether I am traveling or at home at the drawing table - there are only few resources that accompany me in creating my pictures. A small watercolor box with 14 colors in half bowls, a water brush, pencils and ink pens, as well as small practical watercolor blocks and sketchbooks - that's all.
For me, drawing is an important means of enriching my own quality of life. Without any claim to perfection - but with its own distinctive style.

I begin to enter a photography world in 1999. Start with analog camera, I realize that photography can take me to another metaphysics world. A contentment that can be feel by myself, a different angle of beauty.

David Halperin is an internationally recognized photographer, journalist/editor and mixed-media producer. His work has covered a wide range of subjects and media outlets. Born and raised near New York, he has lived in the UK and Ireland, the Netherlands and Australia. After 22 years in Australia, he returned to live in near New York in 2002. Other photographic travels over the years have taken him to other parts of North America, to Western Europe and the UK, Turkey, north and west Africa, New Zealand, Bali, Japan, Iceland, Vanuatu, Jamaica and India.
