Halloween in Harlem by Amy Stein

Since today is Halloween and I thought there is no better photo series to feature than Amy Stein’s “Halloween in Harlem”. These photographs silently speak an enormous amount of words, showing little Spidermen, Hulks and Princesses in contrast with the blandness of their surroundings.

Amy Stein is a photographer and teacher based in New York City. Her work explores our evolving isolation from community, culture and the environment. She has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and is at the moment exhibiting in different exhibitions all over the US.
