Scary bread sculptures by Kittiwat Unarrom

A baker in Thailand adds a whole new meaning to the term “shock art”.  Artist Kittiwat Unarrom sculptures gruesome body parts from dough. Since 2006 Kittiwat uses dough as his medium to sculpt gruesome renditions of hand, feet, heads, torsos and other body parts.

The sculpture, painting and graphic arts graduate says he is creating the fake body parts to illustrate the old Buddhist saying “Don’t always believe what you see, because what you see might not be true”. Growing up in a bakery (his family used to own a bakery) Kittiwat always been interested in dough as a material. Experimenting for years with different doughs, he now creates body parts made of dough, while eyes, lips and other details are constructed of cashews, raisins & co. By the way, Kittiwat says his sculptures are in fact edible and tastes like regular bread.

Fresh baked bread, anyone?
